In 1969, Marilyn and her husband Christopher J. established the Christopher J. Barrett agency in Wakefield. In 1969, Marilyn and her husband Christopher J. established the Christopher J. Barrett agency in Wakefield. She and Chris dedicated their time to helping the people of Wakefield buy and sell homes on Boston’s North Shore. In addition to managing all aspects of the family-owned business, Marilyn donates much of her time to organizations in town such as serving as a member of the Board of Directors to the Col. James Hartshorne House, a long-time Treasurer of the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, a founding member and past President of the Friends of the Wakefield Council on Aging and was on the team that oversaw the renovations of the Warren School that would become the Senior Center. While she currently manages the daily operations of the office, Marilyn is a member of the GRI [Graduate REALTOR Institute]. In 2016, Marilyn was awarded the James E. Chisholm Leader in Business Award by the Wakefield/Lynnfield Chamber of Commerce for her years of dedication and service.

Because of Marilyn, nearly every organization in town has been the beneficiary of the generosity and community-spirit of Christopher J. Barrett Realtors. Marilyn and Chris have four sons; three who are brokers in the family business. In her spare time, she enjoys bowling, playing golf and being with her family.
